Areas of application

Juniorlax is a laxative used to treat chronic constipation in children ages 2 to 11 years.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

One sachet of Juniorlax contains the following active ingredients: macrogol 3350 (6.563 g), sodium chloride (0.1754 g), sodium hydrogen carbonate (0.0893 g) and potassium chloride (0.0233 g).After dissolving the contents of the bag in 62.5 ml of water, the ready-to-use solution contains the following electrolytes: sodium (65 mmol/l), chloride (53 mmol/l), hydrogen carbonate (17 mmol/l) and potassium (5 mmol/l).

Other ingredients include colloidal silicon dioxide, saccharin sodium, orange flavor, lemon-lime flavor, maltodextrin, gum arabic, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol, mannitol, D-glucono-1,5-lactone and sorbitol.

Warnings

Juniorlax contains sorbitol.Please only use Juniorlax after consulting your doctor if you know that your child suffers from an intolerance to certain sugars.

Dosage and application

Always give your child Juniorlax exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.The usual starting dose is one sachet daily for children aged 2 to 6 years and two sachets daily for children aged 7 to 11 years.The daily dose can be increased or decreased as needed to ensure regular bowel movements with loose stools.

To prepare the solution, the contents of one sachet are dissolved in 62.5 ml of water.The solution can be taken morning and evening.The prepared solution can be stored sealed in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.

Duration of treatment

Treatment of chronic constipation should be carried out over a long period of time, at least 6 to 12 months.

Side effects

Possible side effects include abdominal pain, intestinal noises, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, bloating, flatulence and allergic reactions.Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if any of the side effects listed seriously affects your child or if you notice any side effects that are not listed in this leaflet.

Contraindications

Juniorlax must not be taken if your child is allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients, has a narrowing or obstruction of the intestine, is at risk of intestinal perforation or has a severe inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Juniorlax can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Storage

Keep Juniorlax out of the reach of children and do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and sachet.The ready-to-drink solution can be kept at room temperature for a maximum of 3 hours or in the refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours.

Notes

Only use laxative medicines for short periods of time without a doctor’s recommendation.Long-term use can lead to chronic constipation.If there is no success after short-term use, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
