The active ingredients of Oralpädon® 240 Strawberry are sodium chloride, potassium chloride, glucose monohydrate and disodium hydrogen citrate 1.5 H2O.It also contains malic acid, aspartame (contains phenylalanine), strawberry flavor, colloidal silicon dioxide and beetroot juice powder.Oralpädon® 240 Strawberry contains glucose, potassium chloride, sodium compounds and aspartame.

Diarrhea is a digestive disorder in which the stool volume increases with fluid and the number of bowel movements increases.This leads to a loss of water and minerals, which can lead to severe weakening of the body.Diarrhea can be triggered by food intolerance, viruses, bacteria or psychological factors such as stress or anxiety.

Dosage and application

The recommended dosage of Oralpädon® 240 Strawberry is 3 to 5 sachets in 24 hours for infants and small children, 1 sachet after each bowel movement for children and 1 to 2 sachets after each bowel movement for adults.One sachet is dissolved in 200 ml of drinking water and drunk.If drinking water is not available, freshly boiled and cooled water can also be used.

The amount of liquid in which 1 sachet of Oralpädon® should be dissolved must be strictly adhered to, otherwise the optimal composition of salts, sugar and liquid will not be achieved and disturbances to the salt balance in the body could be caused.The solution should only be prepared immediately before taking it.Do not use unused solution after 1 hour at room temperature.If stored in the refrigerator, it will last for a maximum of 24 hours.Do not boil the prepared solution!

If nausea or vomiting occurs at the same time, Oralpädon® should be drunk in small sips until the required dose has been reached.Children and adults take Oralpädon® until the diarrhea subsides, but no more than 36 hours.If the diarrhea lasts longer, you should see your doctor again.The duration of the use of Oralpädon® in infants and small children is determined by the attending physician.It is usually 6-12 hours and should not exceed 24 hours.

It is important to ensure adequate fluid intake alongside therapy.Since any diarrhea can be a sign of a serious illness, if it lasts for a long time and/or if your general health is impaired, you should consult a doctor immediately.

In patients with cardiac insufficiency (heart failure) and high blood pressure, the doctor should be consulted before starting treatment about the amounts of fluid and sodium supplied by the medicine.Because of the high glucose content, the medicine should only be used by diabetics after consulting their doctor.

A doctor should always be consulted when treating diarrhea in infants and small children.Effects on the ability to drive and use machines have not yet been reported.Side effects could affect the ability to react.

If you have diarrhea, stop eating all foods before you start using the medicine.This also applies to milk, with the exception of breast milk.For breastfed children, it is advisable to first administer the required amount of mineral solution and then breastfeed the children until they are full.In children who are not breastfed, the transition to normal food occurs after 6-12 hours.Once the symptoms have subsided (generally after 24-48 hours), you can gradually return to normal food.Treatment should be continued as long as diarrhea persists.
