Directions for use of the article Kohle Hevert: Coal Hevert is a medicine with the active substance medicinal coal (250 mg). It is used to treat diarrhoea and poisoning caused by food, heavy metals and medicines. It should not be used in cases of poisoning by pesticides. The dosage for adults is 2 to 4 tablets 3 to 4 times a day for diarrhoea, and half that for children. In cases of poisoning, the dose can be safely increased to 50 tablets, which are mixed in liquid to form a paste. It is recommended to take a saline laxative afterwards. The duration of use for diarrhoea is until normalisation of bowel movements, if treatment is unsuccessful after 3 days, a doctor should be consulted. It should be stored at temperatures below 25 °C and protected from moisture. It should be kept away from children and should not be used after the expiry date. There are no known side effects at the recommended dosages. In case of intolerance or changes during treatment, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. The drug has a high binding capacity and has a detoxifying effect. It should be used without restrictions during pregnancy and breastfeeding. No interactions with other medicinal products can be detected. The tablets must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
