EUDORLIN® Extra contains the proven active ingredient ibuprofen and is a versatile pain reliever for relieving various types of pain such as headaches, toothaches and period pains.It also helps with fever.The product has a quick, pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect.No prescription is required for this product.

Area of application

This medicine is an anti-inflammatory and analgesic with antipyretic properties.It is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain and fever.

Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients

Each tablet contains 400 mg of ibuprofen as the active ingredient.The other ingredients are corn starch, highly disperse silicon dioxide, carboxymethyl starch sodium type A, magnesium stearate (vegetable), hypromellose, macrogol 4000, povidone K30 and titanium dioxide.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients.The product should also not be used if you have had allergic reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the past, such as shortness of breath, asthma attacks, swelling of the nasal mucosa or skin reactions.Furthermore, it must not be taken in the case of unexplained blood formation disorders, existing or recurring stomach/duodenal ulcers or bleeding, a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, cerebral hemorrhage or other active bleeding, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, severe heart failure or in the last 3 months of pregnancy.Children under 6 years of age or with a body weight of less than 20 kg must not receive the painkillers as the dose they contain is usually not suitable.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose depends on body weight:

Children aged 6-9 years (20-29 kg): As a single dose, ½ film-coated tablet (equivalent to 200 mg ibuprofen), the total daily dose is up to 1½ film-coated tablets (equivalent to up to 600 mg ibuprofen).

Children aged 10-12 years (30-39 kg): As a single dose, ½ film-coated tablet (corresponding to 200 mg ibuprofen), the total daily dose is up to 2 film-coated tablets (corresponding to up to 800 mg ibuprofen).

Children and adolescents aged 12 and over and adults (from 40 kg): As a single dose, ½ -1 film-coated tablet (corresponding to 200 - 400 mg ibuprofen), the total daily dose is up to 3 film-coated tablets (corresponding to up to 1200 mg ibuprofen).

Wait at least 6 hours between doses if you have taken the maximum single dose.Elderly people and patients with a previous stomach or duodenal ulcer should start with the lowest dosage.No dose reduction is necessary if there is mild to moderate impairment of kidney or liver function.In children and adolescents, if use is required for more than 3 days or symptoms worsen, medical advice should be sought.

The medicine is only intended for short-term use.Do not use it without medical advice for more than 3 days in children and adolescents, for no more than 3 days for fever and for no more than 4 days for adults with pain.Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you think the effect is too strong or too weak.

Intake

Swallow the film-coated tablets whole with plenty of liquid, such as a glass of water, during or after a meal.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.Side effects can be reduced by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest period of time necessary to control symptoms.If you have any of the above-mentioned medical conditions, ask a doctor for advice before taking it.

Concomitant use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should be avoided.Older patients are more likely to experience side effects, particularly bleeding and perforations in the stomach and intestines, which can potentially be life-threatening.Therefore, particularly careful medical monitoring is required in older patients.

Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen may be associated with a slightly increased risk of a heart attack or stroke, especially when used in high doses.Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment duration. Before taking this medicine, discuss your treatment with your doctor or pharmacist if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, or a family history of heart disease or stroke, or if you are a smoker.

Serious skin reactions with redness and blistering have been reported very rarely with NSAR-therapy.The highest risk of such reactions appears to be at the start of therapy.At the first appearance of skin rashes or other signs of hypersensitivity reaction, this medicine should be discontinued and a doctor should be consulted immediately.

This medicine should only be used after careful consideration of the benefit-risk ratio, especially in certain autoimmune diseases.Particularly careful medical supervision is required in the case of gastrointestinal disorders, high blood pressure, heart failure, impaired kidney or liver function, immediately after major surgical procedures and in the case of allergies.

Severe acute hypersensitivity reactions are very rarely observed.At the first sign of a serious hypersensitivity reaction after taking this medicine, you must stop taking it immediately and consult a doctor.

Ibuprofen can temporarily inhibit platelet function.Patients with blood clotting disorders should therefore be carefully monitored.If medicines containing ibuprofen are used at the same time, the anticoagulant effect of low-dose acetylsalicylic acid may be impaired.If you are simultaneously taking medicines to inhibit blood clotting or to lower blood sugar, blood clotting or blood sugar levels should be checked as a precaution.

If the drug is administered for a long time, regular monitoring of liver values, kidney function and blood counts is necessary.If taken before surgical procedures, the doctor or dentist should be consulted or informed.

Prolonged use of any type of painkiller for headaches can make them worse.If this is the case or suspected, medical advice should be sought and treatment discontinued.In general, the habitual use of painkillers, especially when several painkillers are combined, can lead to permanent kidney damage with the risk of kidney failure.

Use of this medicine should be avoided during chickenpox infection.There is a risk of kidney dysfunction in dehydrated children and adolescents.

Since central nervous side effects such as tiredness and dizziness can occur when using this medicine in higher doses, in individual cases the ability to react can be changed and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and operate machines can be impaired.This is especially true when combined with alcohol.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

In the first 6 months of pregnancy you may only use ibuprofen after consulting your doctor.The medicine must not be used in the last 3 months of pregnancy due to an increased risk of complications for mother and child.

The medicine can affect fertility in women.This effect is reversible after discontinuation of the drug.

The active ingredient ibuprofen and its breakdown products only pass into breast milk in small quantities.Since there are no known adverse consequences for the infant, interruption of breastfeeding is generally not necessary for short-term use.However, if longer use or higher doses are prescribed, early cessation of breastfeeding should be considered.

Other

The medicine is not suitable for children and adolescents under 14 years of age because the active ingredient content is too high.Long-term, high-dose, improper use of painkillers can cause headaches, which should not be treated with increased amounts of the drug.If you experience severe pain in the upper abdomen, blood in your stools or vomiting blood, you must stop taking the medicine immediately and consult a doctor. If you have vision problems, you should inform your doctor immediately and stop taking the medicine.If signs of infection appear or worsen while using the medicine, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
