Instructions for use for AKNICHTHOL Cream, 50 g

AKNICTHOL® Cream is a medicine for the treatment of acne vulgaris. It contains the active ingredient sodium bituminosulfonate, which has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect and reduces sebum production. The cream is applied thinly to the affected skin areas and used two or three times a day. The duration of treatment should not exceed six weeks. In case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or other sulphonated shale oils, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medication must not be used. Possible side effects are skin irritations such as itching, burning and redness. Before use, the skin areas should be cleaned and direct contact with mucous membranes and open skin areas should be avoided.
