Adiclair ointment contains the active ingredient nystatin and is used for the treatment of skin infections with nystatin-sensitive yeasts, especially for the treatment of fungal infections in the nappy area (nappy dermatitis). Nystatin acts specifically against Candida albicans and other fungi by binding the cell membranes, inhibiting growth and destroying the fungal cells. The ointment should be applied 2-3 times a day to the affected skin area, in severe cases more frequently. The duration of treatment depends on the symptoms and the course of the disease. To avoid relapses, all foci of infection should be completely eliminated. There are no known harmful effects of Adiclair on pregnancy or breastfeeding. Storage should be below 25 °C and the ointment has a shelf life of 6 months after opening. Side effects are rare but may occur.
