Summary: Venentabs-ratiopharm sustained-release tablets contain the active ingredient horse chestnut seed dry extract and are used to treat symptoms of leg vein disorders. Symptoms include swollen legs, varicose veins, heaviness, pain, itching, tiredness and calf cramps. The tablets should be taken twice a day, unchewed, with some liquid. A treatment period of at least 4 weeks may be required and long-term treatment is possible. The tablets should be kept out of the reach of children and should not be stored above 25 °C. No dose adjustment is normally required in the presence of impaired renal or hepatic function. Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not intended. The package leaflet should be read before use. The medicine should not be taken in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of the medicinal product. The use of the medicinal product is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Interactions with other medicinal products may occur, therefore other medicinal products should be discussed with the doctor or pharmacist before treatment. Only a few side effects are known.
