Indications: Medicinal product for the treatment of iron deficiency. Warning: Contains lactose and sucrose. What is Iron Tablets AbZ 100 mg and what is it used for? Iron Tablets AbZ 100 mg is a medicine used to treat iron deficiency. It is used to treat iron deficiency conditions. How is Iron Tablets AbZ 100mg used? Always take this medicine exactly as described in the leaflet. The recommended dose is 1 film-coated tablet 1 to 2 times a day, corresponding to 100-200 mg of iron(II) ions. It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. There are insufficient data for specific dosage recommendations in kidney or liver disease. How should Iron Tablets AbZ 100mg be stored? Keep the medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date which is stated on the packaging. Store it at a temperature below 25 °C. Duration of use: The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the disease. Iron therapy over a period of at least 8 weeks is necessary to achieve therapeutic success. After normalisation of the blood values, treatment should be continued for another 6-8 weeks to replenish the iron supply. Side effects: Possible side effects are gastrointestinal complaints such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhoea and constipation as well as blackening of the stools. You should consult a doctor or pharmacist if you experience any symptoms during treatment. Composition: The active ingredients are dried ferrous sulphate and ferrous ion. Other ingredients include maltodextrin, calcium stearate, lactose monohydrate, copovidone, macrogol 4000, talc, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, magnesium stearate (vegetable), shellac, titanium dioxide, cellulose powder, maize starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium, sodium dodecyl sulphate, sucrose, povidone K25 and iron oxides and hydroxides. Mode of action: Iron is a vital trace element and is involved in many metabolic processes in the body, especially in the formation of red blood cells. Important information: You should exercise caution if you have an allergy to iron hydroxide sucrose, an intolerance to lactose or sucrose and certain interactions with other medicines or foods.
