Selergo 1 % solution is a medicine used to treat fungal diseases of the skin. The active ingredient ciclopirax-olamine is effective against various fungi that cause skin and mucous membrane diseases. The solution should be applied to the affected areas twice a day and allowed to air dry. The treatment should be continued until the skin symptoms have subsided in order to avoid relapses. Selergo 1% solution is suitable for adults and school children and can be purchased without a doctor's prescription. However, there are certain contraindications and precautions to be observed, e.g. the solution should not be applied to the breast area of nursing mothers. Selergo 1% solution may cause some side effects, such as itching, mild burning and contact dermatitis. The medicine should be stored at room temperature away from children.
