Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredients of this preparation are calcium carbonate and colecalciferol (vitamin D3).The main ingredients are 3000 mg of calcium carbonate and 0.02 mg of colecalciferol, which corresponds to 800 IE vitamin D3.In addition, the product contains various excipients such as alpha-tocopherol, malic acid, citric acid, gelatin, corn starch, maltodextrin, sodium carbonate, sodium cyclamate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, saccharin sodium salt, sucrose, partially hydrogenated soybean oil and lemon flavor.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to calcium carbonate, colecalciferol, soy, peanut or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used if there is an increased calcium content in the blood, increased calcium excretion in the urine, calcium-containing kidney stones, tissue calcification of the kidneys, impaired kidney function, hyperfunction of the parathyroid gland, vitamin D overdose, multiple bone marrow tumors, secondary tumors in the bones, immobilization of limbs and certain lung diseases such as sarcoidosis or Boeck's disease.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as directed.Adults should take an effervescent tablet containing 1200 mg calcium and 800 IE vitamin D3 once daily.The duration of use is determined by the doctor.In the event of an overdose, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, feeling thirsty, increased urine flow, dehydration or constipation may occur.A permanent overdose can lead to vascular and organ calcification.If you suspect an overdose, you should contact your doctor immediately.If you forget to take it, take the preparation as usual the next day without taking a double dose.If you decide to stop treatment, you should speak to your doctor first.

Intake

The effervescent tablet is dissolved in a glass of water and drunk immediately.It is recommended to take the medicine in the morning.

Patient information

During long-term treatment, serum and urinary calcium levels should be monitored and renal function should be checked by measuring serum creatinine.This is particularly important in elderly patients and during simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides and diuretics.If the phosphate concentration in the blood is low, the medicine should only be taken after consulting your doctor.Additional calcium and vitamin D may only be taken under medical supervision.In patients with impaired renal function, the drug should be used with caution and serum and urine calcium levels should be monitored.There are no data on the influence of this medicine on the ability to drive, but an influence is unlikely.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

You should always ask your doctor for advice before taking any medication.Due to the high dosage of vitamin D, the medicine should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Overdoses of vitamin D must be avoided as they can lead to physical deformities and mental retardation in the child.Calcium passes into breast milk in small amounts without having a negative effect on the child.
