The medicine Pancreatan 25,000 contains a mixture of enzymes called pancreatic powder, also known as pancreatin. It supports digestion and is used to treat digestive disorders caused by reduced function of the pancreas. The enzymes are extracted from pig pancreases and are contained in enteric-coated microfilm tablets. Pancreatan improves the symptoms of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, such as greasy stools, abdominal pain, flatulence and diarrhoea or constipation. The dosage depends on your age, weight, the severity of the disease and the amount of fat in your stools. The medicine should be taken during or immediately after a meal to allow the enzymes to mix thoroughly with the food. It should be swallowed with sufficient liquid.
