WUNDmed Protective Plaster Hydrocolloid is a gelatin-free hydrocolloid plaster that forms a gel on contact with wound fluid. The patch contains a PE-foam dressing on the back that cushions the wound and does not rub to relieve pain. Before application, the affected area should be cleaned with soap and water and dried thoroughly so as not to affect the adhesion of the patch. A mild disinfectant should be used on blisters that have burst open. The patch should be pressed onto the surrounding skin and removed only when it starts to come off on its own. It should remain attached to the wound as long as possible, but should be changed when moist or when maximum absorption is reached. The plaster is available in a pack of 10 in 4 different sizes. Application of the patch protects the treated area from dirt, water and further friction. It also promotes faster healing of wounds. The manufacturer of the product is Axisis GmbH.
