Miconazole acis® solution is a medicine for the treatment of fungal skin diseases.It is used for fungal infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur.These infections can take various forms, including mycoses of the feet, such as fungal infections between the toes, on the soles of the feet, or on the back of the feet.Fungal infections of the body skin and body skin folds, superficial candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor (bran fungus) and erythrasma can also be treated.The product is suitable for infants, children and adults.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Miconazol acis® solution is miconazole.One milliliter of the solution contains 20 milligrams of miconazole.In addition, the solution contains the other ingredients 2-propanol, propylene glycol and macrogol 400. It is important to note that the product contains propylene glycol.

Application and dosage

Miconazol acis® solution is used externally on the skin.The solution should be applied to the affected skin areas one to three times a day.The average duration of therapy is two to five weeks.Symptoms usually improve significantly within the first seven days after starting treatment.It is advisable to continue treatment until the fungal culture is negative, or at least 14 days after the symptoms have subsided.There should be a treatment-free period of three to four days between the last application of the solution and the creation of a fungal culture to ensure that any residual active ingredient does not influence the culture.

Contraindications and precautions

Miconazol acis® solution must not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.Newborns, especially those with signs of immaturity, should not use the product as it may contain benzyl alcohol, which can trigger gasping syndrome.Infants and small children with weeping eczema should also not use the solution.You should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use, especially if you are taking oral anticoagulants such as warfarin.In the event of hypersensitivity reactions or irritation, treatment should be discontinued.Contact with eyes should be avoided.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Miconazol acis® solution can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding when used as directed.However, breastfeeding women should not use the medicine on the breast area to avoid direct contact of the infant with the active ingredient.
