Freka-Clyss® is a ready-to-use, salt-based, disposable enema.The solution in Freka-Clyss® is hyperosmolar, meaning that the salt content of the solution is higher than that of body fluids.This means that more water gets into the rectum after insertion, which softens the stool and has a laxative effect.

Areas of application

Freka-Clyss® is used for constipation and for rapid and sustained emptying of the rectum before operations.It is also used to prepare for urological, x-ray and gynecological examinations as well as colonoscopies.

Application

In general, 1 Freka-Clyss® (120 ml) per application is sufficient for adults.For special clinical needs, 2 - 3 bags can be used consecutively.The disposable enema can be warmed up to maximum body temperature in a water bath before use.

Recommended use: Grease the cap and hose with petroleum jelly.Open the closure by breaking off the tip and insert the tube as far into the rectum as possible.You can lie on your side with your legs drawn up.Empty Freka-Clyss® slowly using light pressure.The bag does not need to be completely emptied; it contains more liquid than is required for effective emptying.Therefore, a residue of liquid remains.

Mode of action

Freka-Clyss® contains a saline solution that ensures a flow of fluid into the intestine due to its osmotic properties.The solid stool is softened and bowel evacuation can take place gently and gently.Thanks to the flexible tube and the rounded cone of the closure piece, injuries to the intestinal mucosa are avoided.

Ingredients of Freka-Clyss®: 100 ml contains sodium dihydrogen phosphate 2 H2O 16 g, sodium monohydrogen phosphate 12 H2O 6 g, p-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester 0.1 g, p-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester 0.01 g, water for injection purposes.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, this product should not be used.Freka-Clyss® must not be used in infants and children under 12 years of age as there is a risk of serious side effects and complications.

Notes
