Directions for use of the article Freka Clyss Enemas: Freka Clyss enemas are used to treat constipation and faecal blockage. They allow almost physiological emptying of the rectum and can also be used before births, operations, rectoscopies and radiological examinations. The enemas contain a hypertonic solution that creates an osmotic pressure gradient between the intestinal fluid and the plasma, causing increased fluid to enter the bowel. This leads to a filling and pressure increase in the rectum, which naturally stimulates intestinal peristalsis. The enema is applied rectally and takes only a few minutes. The enema pack contains a ready-to-use bag and a 15 cm long insertion tube that ensures deep penetration of the enema fluid. The flexible tube and the rounded cone of the closure prevent injury to the intestinal mucosa. The ingredients of the Freka Clyss enema are sodium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium monohydrogen phosphate, methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate and propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate as well as purified water.
