Panto Aristo® for heartburn 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets

Panto Aristo® contains the active ingredient pantoprazole, which blocks a pump that is responsible for producing stomach acid.This reduces the amount of acid in the stomach.The tablets are used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux in adults.

Reflux describes the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation and pain.Typical symptoms include a burning sensation in the chest that travels up to the throat and a sour taste in the mouth.The symptoms can be alleviated after just one day of treatment with Panto Aristo®, although relief does not have to occur immediately.It may be necessary to take the tablets over 2-3 consecutive days.

Panto Aristo® contains the active ingredient pantoprazole.Each enteric-coated tablet contains 20 mg pantoprazole (as sodium 1.5 H2O).The other components are:

Tablet core: maltitol, crospovidone (type B), carmellose sodium, sodium carbonate, calcium stearate (Ph. Eur.) [pflanzlich].Tablet coating: poly(vinyl alcohol), talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), macrogol 3350, deoiled phospholipids from soybeans, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O (E 172), sodium carbonate, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30% (Ph. Eur.), triethyl citrate.

Area of application

Panto Aristo® is used for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux in adults.Reflux describes the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation and pain.Typical symptoms include a burning sensation in the chest that travels up to the throat and a sour taste in the mouth.

Dosage

The recommended dose is one tablet daily.Do not exceed this recommended daily dose of 20 mg pantoprazole.Take the tablet at the same time every day before a meal.Swallow the tablet whole with a little water.Do not bite or break the tablet.

Take this medicine for at least 2-3 consecutive days.Stop taking Panto Aristo® when you are completely free of symptoms.If you do not notice any improvement in symptoms after 2 weeks of continuous use, contact your doctor.Do not take Panto Aristo® for more than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor.

Contraindications

Panto Aristo® must not be taken if you are allergic to pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.It should also not be taken if you are taking HIV-protease inhibitors such as atazanavir or nelfinavir to treat a HIV-infection.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Panto Aristo® if you have had treatment for heartburn or indigestion for 4 weeks or longer, are older than 55 years and are treating indigestion with non-prescription medicines daily, or if you have had a stomach ulcer or stomach surgery in the past.You should also consult your doctor if you have liver problems or jaundice, severe symptoms or serious medical conditions, planned endoscopies or breathing tests, or certain blood tests.

Do not take Panto Aristo® for longer than 4 weeks without consulting your doctor.Talk to your doctor if reflux symptoms have not gone away after 2 weeks.Your doctor will decide whether long-term treatment is necessary.

Long-term use of Panto Aristo® poses additional risks such as reduced absorption of vitamin B12 and vitamin B12 deficiency, hip, wrist or spine fractures, and falling magnesium levels in the blood.Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following symptoms: extreme tiredness, tingling, sore or red tongue, mouth ulcers, muscle twitching, disorientation, convulsions, dizziness, racing heart, tiredness, muscle twitching, disorientation, convulsions, dizziness, racing heart.

Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following symptoms before or after taking this medicine, which could be a sign of another, more serious condition: unintentional weight loss, vomiting, vomiting blood, blood in the stool, difficulty swallowing, pain when swallowing, paleness and weakness, chest pain, stomach pain, severe and/or persistent diarrhea, rash, serious skin reactions.

Children and adolescents should not take Panto Aristo® as there is a lack of safety information for this age group.

If you experience side effects such as dizziness or blurred vision, you should not drive or operate machines.

Pregnancy

You should not take Panto Aristo® if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
