Instructions for use for Pan Ophthalm eye drops, 3x10 ml
Description
Pan-Ophtal eye drops are a synthetic tear fluid that is used for the symptomatic treatment of drying out of the cornea and conjunctiva. These can arise from tear secretion disorders due to local or systemic underlying diseases as well as insufficient eyelid closure. The product is available without a prescription.
Active ingredients and ingredients
The eye drops contain 50 mg of dexpanthenol per milliliter as the active ingredient.Excipients include disodium edetate 2-water, disodium hydrogenphosphate 12-water, hypromellose, sodium dihydrogenphosphate 2-water, water for injections, cetrimide and a total of 1.64 mg total phosphate ion.
Application
The eye drops are applied directly to the eye.Take the opened dropper bottle in your hand and pull the lower eyelid down slightly with the index finger of your other hand. With your head tilted back, bring the dropper tip close to the eye without touching it.By gently pressing the bottle, drip a drop into the conjunctival sac.Slowly close your eye and move it back and forth to allow the drop to spread well.
Dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed, the recommended dosage is one drop into the conjunctival sac several times a day if necessary. The duration of treatment depends on the type and course of the disease. There are no known risks associated with overdose. If you forget to use it, do not use a double dose.Continue therapy at the same dosage at the next scheduled time.If you stop using it, the symptoms may return.
Contraindications
The eye drops must not be used if you are allergic to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Patient information
The eye drops contain the preservative cetrimide, which can cause eye irritation and damage the corneal epithelium if used frequently.Particularly sensitive patients are recommended to switch to preparations without preservatives.Contact lens wearers should remove the lenses before use and can reinsert them about 15 minutes later. After instillation, temporary blurred vision may occur, which may affect the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.Since it is not known how much dexpanthenol is absorbed into the bloodstream after local application, the benefits of use should be carefully weighed against any possible risks.
Notes
If you are additionally treated with other eye drops or eye ointments, there should be an interval of at least 15 minutes between the different medications. The drug has a short-term effect on visual performance due to the formation of streaks and thus on the ability to react in traffic and when operating machines.
Other
No prescription is required for this product.Keep the package leaflet and read it carefully.Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you need further information or advice. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve, please seek medical attention.
