Area of application

The preparation is a medicine used to treat fungal infections that can be treated with clotrimazole.These include, for example, diaper rash caused by yeast.Fungal infections result from an overgrowth of fungi that are normally found on the skin.The skin reacts to this with burning, itching, peeling and painful inflammation.A reliable diagnosis of a fungal disease can only be made by a doctor.

Active ingredients and ingredients

10 mg clotrimazole, (RS)-2-octyldodecan-1-ol, 2-phenylethanol, 0.5 mg butylhydroxyanisole, 57 mg cetostearyl alcohol, disodium edetate 2-water, glycerol monostearate 40-55, paraffin, thick, 16 mg polysorbate 20, titanium dioxide, water, purified.

Contraindications

This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to clotrimazole, cetostearyl alcohol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Dosage

Always use this medicine exactly as described or after consulting your doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the paste is applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in once or twice a day, in the morning or morning and evening.Spread the paste slightly beyond the edges of the affected skin areas.For an area of skin about the size of your palm, a strand of about half a centimeter of paste is sufficient.

No special adjustments are necessary in children and elderly patients as there is no known increase in the frequency or intensification of side effects.However, there are no data on safety and effectiveness in children younger than 1 month.Limited data are available in elderly patients over 65 years of age.

The paste should be used regularly and over a sufficiently long period of time.Do not stop treatment once the inflammation and symptoms have subsided.Continue use for at least another 3 weeks.In the case of diaper rash, a slight improvement in symptoms should be noticeable within 3 days.The treatment should be carried out for a total of 7 days.If the symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after 7 days, you must consult a doctor.

Patient information

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.You may only use the medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding if your doctor has expressly instructed you to do so.Breastfeeding mothers should not use the medicine on or around the breast to avoid direct contact with the baby.

Other

Clotrimazole, the active ingredient in Imazol Paste, damages the outer shell of fungi and thereby inhibits their growth or kills them.Imazol Paste is used for skin diseases that respond to treatment with clotrimazole, such as dermatomycoses caused by Trichophyton spp., Candida species or Malassezia furfur.
