INADINE 9.5x9.5 cm is a non-adherent wound dressing made of woven cellulose acetate impregnated with 10% povidone-iodine. This corresponds to 1.0% available iodine. Iodine is a potent antimicrobial substance that is effective against various microorganisms. INADINE minimises adhesion to the wound bed and reduces the risk of damage to granulation tissue during dressing changes. It also reduces pain for the patient. The dressing changes colour from orange to white when the povidone-iodine is released, which is an indicator of dressing change. INADINE can be used for chronic ulceration and for infection prophylaxis in minor burns and superficial injuries with skin loss. It has also been shown that INADINE is suitable for the management of chronic wounds, including ulcers of various aetiologies, diabetic foot ulcers and decubital ulcers.
