The active ingredient is:

Tramazoline hydrochloride 1 H2O

1 ml nasal spray, solution contains 1.265 mg tramazoline hydrochloride 1 H2O (equivalent to 1 mg tramazoline).

One spray of 0.07 ml solution contains 0.09 mg tramazoline hydrochloride 1 H2O.

The other components are:

Benzalkonium chloride, cineole, levomenthol, camphor racemic, citric acid monohydrate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, magnesium sulfate 7 H2O, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, calcium chloride 2 H2O, sodium bicarbonate, purified water.

Moisturizing additives: Povidone (K25), glycerol 85%, hypromellose.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.

Rhinospray® Plus for a cold must not be used in dry inflammation of the nasal mucosa with crust formation (rhinitis sicca).Rhinospray® Plus must not be used in infants and children under 6 years of age if they have a cold.

Dosage

Recommended use of Rhinospray® Plus for a cold:

Depending on your needs, spray a spray of Rhinospray® Plus into each nostril up to 3 times a day if you have a cold.

The nose should be cleaned before use.

Before the first use, operate the fine dispenser several times until an even spray mist emerges.

The fine dosing unit is immediately functional for further applications.

Insert the spray head into the nostril and press the fine dispenser once.Then repeat the process in the other nostril.Breathe in gently through your nose while spraying.

It is recommended to clean the spray head after use.

After using the fine dispenser, put the protective cap back on.

Rhinospray® Plus for a cold should only be used for the short-term treatment of acute colds (5 - 7 days). In all other cases, especially when used on children, the doctor should be consulted.

Intake

The preparation is intended for nasal use.

Before using the medicine, the nose should be cleaned.

Before the first use, pump according to the drawing until an even spray mist emerges.

The dosing spray works immediately for further applications.

Insert the spray head into the nostril and press the dosing spray once.Then repeat the process in the other nostril.Breathe in gently through your nose while spraying.

It is recommended to clean the spray head under running water after use.

Patient information

The medicine should only be used for short-term treatment (5-7 days) of acute rhinitis.

The drug should only be used again after a break of several days.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, you should only take medication after consulting your doctor or pharmacist!

Studies have shown no evidence of teratogenic effects.However, there is no experience in humans with use during pregnancy.

The medicine must not be used during the first three months of pregnancy.

As the pregnancy progresses, it should only be used as directed by a doctor.

There is no evidence that the active ingredient passes into breast milk.During breastfeeding, the medicine should only be used as directed by a doctor.

Notes

In the case of chronic rhinitis, the drug may only be used on special medical advice and under medical supervision due to the risk of the nasal mucosa shrinking.

To facilitate the drainage of secretions in the case of inflammation of the paranasal sinuses and in cases of blockage of the ear trumpet due to swelling of the mucous membrane (tubal catarrh) in conjunction with a runny nose, the medicine may only be used after special medical instructions.

With longer periods of use or higher quantities, possible effects on the heart and blood vessels cannot be ruled out.In these cases, the ability to drive a motor vehicle, operate machines and work without a secure footing may be impaired.This applies to an even greater extent when combined with alcohol.

Prolonged or frequent use and higher quantities can lead to irritation (burning or dryness of the mucous membrane) and increased swelling of the mucous membrane, which are made worse by increased drug use (rhinitis medicamentosa).

This effect can occur after just 5-7 days of treatment and, with continued use, can cause permanent damage to the mucous membrane with crust formation (rhinitis sicca).

In milder cases, it may be considered to first stop taking the medicine from one nostril and then switch to the other side after the symptoms have subsided in order to maintain at least some nasal breathing.

Furthermore, treatment by local application of non-absorbable cortisone preparations via the nasal mucosa can be considered.

Except for short-term use for acute colds, in all other cases and with regard to use in children, the doctor should carefully weigh the benefits and risks.
