Summary: Mutaflor Suspension is an intestinal therapeutic for the treatment of diarrhoea in infants, toddlers and children. The active ingredient is Escherichia coli strain Nissle 1917, which fights pathogenic microorganisms in the intestine and promotes the development of the body's own defences. The suspension can be dribbled directly into the mouth and should always be used after consulting a doctor or pharmacist. The recommended dose is 1-3 ml per day for diarrhoea and 1-5 ml per day for tube fed diarrhoea. The duration of use varies depending on the type of diarrhoea. Mutaflor suspension should be stored in the refrigerator and should be used within 5 days after opening. Side effects are rare.
