Source: Information in the package leaflet Status: 05/2023 Our tips & Information on the article Panthenol-ratiopharm wound balm - Supports wound healing - For superficial skin damage - Contains dexpanthenol - With lanolin - Contains potassium sorbate For skin and mucous membrane injuries: Small or larger injuries such as cuts, puncture wounds or abrasions occur very frequently in everyday life. Children in particular often come home with abrasions. A wound balm that supports the healing of the skin is useful for such injuries. Panthenol-ratiopharm has these properties. The wound balm is manufactured by Ratipharm GmbH. Fast wound healing with dexpanthenol: The active ingredient dexpanthenol is an important vitamin that is involved in many metabolic processes in the body. It regenerates damaged skin and produces new skin cells. In the body, dexpanthenol is converted into pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). Since damaged skin lacks precisely this substance, Panthenol-ratiopharm can compensate for the deficiency here. This allows the wound to close and heal more quickly. Your advantages of Panthenol-ratiopharm wound balm: - Faster wound healing due to the body's own active ingredient pantothenic acid. - Suitable for wounds in the skin and mucous membrane area. - Also suitable for the aftercare of tattoos. - Suitable as an acute treatment for sunburn. How do I apply Panthenol-ratiopharm? Unless otherwise prescribed, apply the wound balm thinly to the affected skin areas once or several times a day. What must I pay attention to when using the product? Do not use the medicine if you are allergic to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients. The tear strength of latex condoms may be reduced, thus impairing their safety. The cream can be used for 12 months after opening. Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to the ingredients - Pregnancy: According to current knowledge, the medicinal product has no harmful effects on the development of your child or on birth. - Breast-feeding: According to current knowledge, there are no indications that the medicinal product must not be used during breast-feeding. If you have been prescribed the medicine despite a contraindication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. The therapeutic benefit may be greater than the risk involved in using it if you have a contraindication. Side effects: Only side effects that have only occurred in exceptional cases have been described for the medicinal product. If you notice any disturbance or change in your condition during treatment, contact your doctor or pharmacist. For the information at this point, mainly side effects that occur in at least one in 1,000 treated patients are taken into account. Composition: Active substance: dexpanthenol 50 mg Excipients: potassium sorbate, wool wax, wool wax alcohol ointment, cetylstearyl alcohol, vaseline, white, polyglyceryl-3 ricinoleate, triglycerides, medium chain, sodium citrate-2-water, citric acid monohydrate, water, purified. Mode of action: The active ingredient heals injured skin and mucous membranes. It is structurally related to pantothenic acid, a vitamin involved in important metabolic processes in the body. Damaged skin or mucous membranes lack pantothenic acid. The medicine with the active substance, which is converted into pantothenic acid in the body, compensates for the missing vitamin and the wound can close more quickly.
