Bifon® solution pump spray - for fungal skin infections
Bifon® pump spray is a broad-spectrum antimycotic that is used to treat fungal skin diseases.The active ingredient bifonazole penetrates the affected skin layers and fights the fungi there.In addition, bifonazole has an anti-inflammatory effect.
The pump spray is easy to distribute and is particularly suitable for sensitive skin areas.It is suitable for practical overhead use and is particularly good for hard-to-reach places.Older people or people with limited mobility can also use the spray without any problems.No prescription is required for this product.
Areas of application
Bifon® pump spray is used for various fungal skin diseases caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens such as Malassezia furfur or Corynebacterium minutissimum.These include:
Fungal diseases of the skin and skin folds, such as tinea corporis and tinea inguinalis.
Fungal diseases between fingers and toes, such as tinea pedis and tinea manuum.
Bran fungus, also known as pityriasis versicolor.
Superficial yeast infections of the skin, such as candidiasis.
Dwarf lichen, also known as erythrasma.
Mode of action
Bifon® pump spray is a broad-spectrum antimycotic for the treatment of fungal skin diseases.Bifonazole, the active ingredient in Bifon® pump spray, penetrates the affected skin layers and kills the fungus there.In addition, it has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Active ingredients and ingredients
Bifon® pump spray contains the active ingredient bifonazole.One milliliter of the solution contains 10 milligrams of bifonazole.The spray also contains ethanol 96% and isopropyl myristate as other ingredients.
Contraindications
If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the ingredients, the product should not be used.It is not suitable for use in the ear canal.
Dosage and application
Unless otherwise prescribed, the solution is applied thinly or sprayed and rubbed in to the affected skin areas once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.A few drops of the solution are usually enough to cover an area about the size of your palm.
Before each use, the affected skin areas should be washed to remove loose skin cells and any residue from the last treatment.After washing, the areas of skin should be dried thoroughly, especially hard-to-reach areas such as between the toes.
In order to achieve lasting healing, treatment should not be stopped after the acute symptoms have subsided.Treatment should be continued until the positive fungal cultures disappear, but at least 14 days after the symptoms have subsided.If the condition worsens or there is no improvement after about a week, you should see a doctor.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using the medicine.If you have had a history of hypersensitivity to other antifungal medicines, you should use the medicine with caution.Avoid putting the product in your eyes.
The medicine has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
For reasons of caution, the use of bifonazole during pregnancy should only be carried out after careful benefit-risk assessment.The use of bifonazole should be avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy.It is not known whether bifonazole passes into breast milk.As a precaution, breastfeeding should be discontinued during treatment with bifonazole.
Notes
Hygienic measures such as regular linen changes should be carried out during treatment.
