Application
OmepraDex® 20 mg gastro-resistant hard capsules contain the active ingredient omeprazole, which belongs to the group of proton pump inhibitors.These active ingredients reduce the amount of acid the stomach produces.The preparation is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux.
Reflux describes the backflow of stomach acid into the esophagus, which can lead to inflammation and pain.Typical symptoms include a burning pain in the chest that travels down to the throat and a sour taste in the mouth.No prescription is required for this product.
The hard capsules can be taken over 2 to 3 consecutive days to achieve an improvement in the symptoms.If the symptoms worsen or there is no improvement after 14 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Active ingredients / ingredients / ingredients
Each capsule contains 20 mg of the active ingredient omeprazole.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: quinoline yellow, disodium hydrogen phosphate, Eudragit L 100-55, gelatin, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, mannitol, sodium dodecyl sulfate, polysorbate 80, talc, titanium dioxide, purified water, sugar-starch pellets, corn starch, sucrose and 23 mg total sodium ion.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used if you are allergic to other proton pump inhibitors such as pantoprazole, lansoprazole, rabeprazole or esomeprazole.It is also contraindicated to take with medicines containing nelfinavir, as this is used to treat HIV-infection.

Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as described in the leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.If you are unsure, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose for adults is one 20 mg capsule once daily for 14 days.If there is no improvement after this period, you should inform your doctor.It may be necessary to take the capsules over 2 to 3 consecutive days.
Dose adjustment is not necessary in elderly patients or in patients with impaired renal function.However, patients with impaired liver function should speak to a doctor before taking it.
If you have taken more than recommended, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Do not take a double dose if you miss a dose.If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible.However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose.

Intake
It is recommended to take the capsule in the morning.You can take the capsules with or without food.Swallow the capsules whole with half a glass of water.Do not chew or crush the capsules as they contain coated pellets that prevent the acid from breaking down the medicine in the stomach.
If you have difficulty swallowing the capsules, you can open the capsule and swallow the contents immediately with half a glass of water.Alternatively, you can pour the contents of the capsule into a glass of acidic fruit juice, applesauce, yogurt or non-carbonated water.Stir the mixture immediately before taking it and then drink it immediately or within 30 minutes.Do not use milk or carbonated water.
To ensure that you have completely absorbed the medicine, rinse the glass carefully with half a glass of water and drink it.The solid particles contain the medicine and must not be chewed or crushed.The capsule can also be sucked and the solid particles then swallowed with half a glass of water.
Patient information
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking the medicine.Do not take omeprazole for more than 14 days without consulting your doctor.If your symptoms do not go away or worsen, see your doctor.
Omeprazole can mask the signs of other diseases. Therefore, talk to your doctor immediately if any of the following applies to you: weight loss, problems swallowing, stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting of food or blood, black stools, severe or persistent diarrhea, previous stomach ulcer or gastrointestinal surgery, persistent indigestion or heartburn for more than 4 weeks, jaundice or severe liver disease, age over 55 years with new or recently changed symptoms, skin reactions after taking similar medicines, scheduled blood test(Chromogranin A).
If you develop a skin rash, especially on areas of skin exposed to the sun, tell your doctor immediately.Don't forget to mention other adverse health effects such as joint pain.When you take omeprazole, your kidneys may become inflamed.Signs and symptoms may include decreased urine output, blood in the urine, and/or hypersensitivity reactions such as fever, rash, and joint stiffness.Please report such symptoms to your doctor.
Patients should not take omeprazole for prevention.Warnings about any excipients contained can be found in the instructions for use.
The medicine is unlikely to affect your ability to drive a car or use tools or machines.However, side effects such as dizziness and blurred vision can occur.You should not drive or use machines if you are impaired.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Your doctor will decide whether you can take the medicine during this time.Your doctor will decide whether you can take omeprazole if you are breast-feeding.
OmepraDex® Just briefly: Less stomach acid

The preparation must be swallowed whole and must not be bitten, crushed or chewed.
