Directions for use of the article Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g Important information (compulsory information): Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g cream. Active substance: Bifonazole. Indications: Fungal infections (mycoses) of the skin caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds and other fungi such as Malassezia furfur as well as infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum. These can be, for example, mycoses of the feet and hands (tinea pedis, tinea manuum), mycoses of the skin and skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea inguinalis), pityriasis versicolor (so-called Kleienpilzfl echte), superficial candidoses, erythrasma (disease of the skin caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum). For risks and side effects, read the package leaflet and ask your doctor or pharmacist. Product characteristics: What is Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g and what is it used for? Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g Cream is used to treat fungal infections of the skin. Indication: Fungal infections (mycoses) of the skin caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, moulds and other fungi such as Malassezia furfur and infections caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum. These can be, for example, mycoses of the feet and hands (tinea pedis, tinea manuum), mycoses of the skin and skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea inguinalis), pityriasis versicolor (so-called Kleienpilzfl echte), superficial candidoses, erythrasma (disease of the skin caused by Corynebacterium minutissimum). How is Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g used? Always use Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g Cream exactly as directed in this leaflet. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not quite sure. The recommended dose is: Unless otherwise prescribed, Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g Cream is applied thinly and rubbed into the affected skin areas 1 time daily. A small amount of cream (about 1 cm or 1/2 cm strand length) is usually sufficient to apply and rub into an area about the size of the palm of your hand. Method of use: Bifonazole Aristo is best applied thinly to the affected skin areas and rubbed in at night before going to bed. Duration of application: In order to achieve a lasting cure, treatment with Bifonazol Aristo 10 mg/g cream should not be discontinued after the acute inflammatory symptoms or subjective complaints have subsided, but - depending on the type of disease - should be carried out over the following treatment periods: The duration of treatment is generally for: Mycoses pedis, mycoses between the toes (tinea pedis, tinea pedis interdigitalis): 3 weeks, mycoses on the body, hands and in skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea manuum, tinea inguinalis): 2-3 weeks, pityriasis versicolor, erythrasma: 2 weeks, superficial candidiasis of the skin: 2-4 weeks. Treatment should always be continued until the positive fungal cultures have disappeared, but at least for 14 days after the symptoms have subsided. There should be a therapy-free interval of 3-4 days between the last application and the preparation of a fungal culture so that any active substance residues do not disturb the culture. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g Cream is too strong or too weak. How should Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g be stored? Keep this medicine out of the reach of children. Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and tube after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated. Storage conditions: Do not store above 25ºC. Indication of storage life after opening or preparation: Can be used for 12 months after opening. Do not dispose of medicines in waste water. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of the medicine when you stop using it. You will be helping to protect the environment. What Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g contains The active substance is: bifonazole. 1 g of cream contains 10 mg of bifonazole. The other ingredients are: Benzyl alcohol, cetylstearyl alcohol (Ph.Eur.), purified water, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, octyldodecanol (Ph.Eur.), hexadecyl palmitate. Fungal infections of the skin, fungal infections in the folds of the body, athlete's foot, fungal infections between the toes or fingers (interdigital mycosis), fungal infection on the palms of the hands. - Fungal infections with yeast fungi, e.g. Fungal infections of the skin, skin lichen caused by pityriasis versicolor (fungus) - Dwarf lichen (erythrasma) (skin infection with certain bacteria) Dosage and directions for use: - For all age groups, apply an adequate amount once daily regardless of time of day. - The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist. - Apply the medicine thinly to the affected areas of the skin and rub in. - The duration of use depends on the type of symptoms and the course of the disease. - In the case of fungal skin diseases, the duration of treatment is generally 2-4 weeks. - No adverse effects are to be expected in the case of an overdose. - If application is forgotten, continue as normal at the next prescribed time, do not apply double the amount. - The treatment period should not be terminated prematurely in order to achieve complete healing. - Consult the doctor or pharmacist if there are any questions about the use of the medicinal product Contraindications: - Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the medicinal product. - Pregnancy: consult a doctor - Breast-feeding: do not apply the medicine to the breast Side effects: - Skin irritation such as redness, burning or scaling may occur. - Contact your doctor or pharmacist if you feel unwell or if there are any changes during treatment. - Other adverse effects are rare Composition: - 1 g cream contains 10 mg bifonazole and other excipients such as benzyl alcohol, cetylstearyl alcohol, purified water, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, octyldodecanol, hexadecyl palmitate. Mode of action: - Bifonazole acts against fungal diseases by damaging the outer shell of the fungi, thus limiting their functions. - The active ingredient is also effective against certain bacteria Important information: - Take care if you are allergic to antifungal agents and to emulsifiers such as cetyl/stearyl alcohol, which may cause skin irritation - Keep the medicine away from heat - The medicine can be used for 12 months after opening. - Do not store above 25ºC - Maximum levels may be set depending on the safety of the medicinal product Commercial forms: - Bifonazole Aristo 10 mg/g cream available in household quantities with a maximum of 15 packs per quarter.
