Levocetirizine TAD® is a second-generation antihistamine used for the symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis, including persistent allergic rhinitis, and urticaria.It works quickly and provides long-lasting relief from allergy symptoms such as allergic rhinitis and hives.The active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride blocks histamine receptors and thereby reduces typical allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy nose and itchy eyes.As a second-generation antihistamine, it has less or no sedative effect.

Quickly effective

Levocetirizine TAD® relieves allergic symptoms within the first 30 minutes after taking it.It causes less fatigue and sleepiness compared to first-generation antihistamines such as cetirizine.It also has a better effect than cetirizine.

Long lasting

Only one tablet per day is required.Levocetirizine TAD® also helps relieve intensely itchy skin rashes associated with chronic hives.

Well tolerated

The preparation is suitable for children aged 6 and over and has a low potential for interactions with other medications.

Levocetirizine TAD® contains the active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride in a dosage of 5 mg per film-coated tablet.The other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate in the tablet core and lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 3000 and triacetin in the film coating.

Area of application

Levocetirizine TAD® is used to treat symptoms such as allergic rhinitis, including persistent allergic rhinitis, and hives (urticaria).If you don't feel better or feel worse after 3 days, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to levocetirizine, an antihistamine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The medication must also not be used if kidney function is severely impaired (severe kidney failure with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet daily.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with water.It can be taken with or without meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation for children under 6 years of age, as the dose cannot be adjusted with film-coated tablets.Some patients may experience drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness and fatigue during therapy with the drug.If you plan to drive a car, work or operate machines without a secure footing, you should first wait and monitor your individual reaction to the medicine.
