Levocetirizine TAD 5mg contains the active ingredient levocetirizine dihydrochloride in a dosage of 5 mg per film-coated tablet.The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, highly disperse silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate in the tablet core as well as lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 3000 and triacetin in the film coating.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to levocetirizine, an antihistamine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine.The medication should also not be used if you have severely impaired kidney function (severe kidney failure with a creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min).

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults and children aged 6 years and over is 1 film-coated tablet daily.

Intake

The film-coated tablets should be swallowed whole with water.It can be taken with or without meals.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when taking the preparation for children under 6 years of age, as the dose cannot be adjusted with film-coated tablets.

Some patients may experience drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness and fatigue during therapy with the drug.If you plan to drive a car, work or operate machines without a secure footing, you should first wait and monitor your individual reaction to the medicine.

In special studies, however, no impairment of the attention, reaction ability and driving ability of healthy test subjects was found when taking levocetirizine in the recommended dosage.
