One bag of Macrogol beta plus electrolytes contains the following active ingredients: 13.125 g Macrogol 3350, 0.351 g sodium chloride, 0.179 g sodium hydrogen carbonate and 0.047 g potassium chloride.

The other ingredients include highly disperse silicon dioxide, saccharin sodium, orange flavor (contains flavorings and flavor extracts, maltodextrin, arabic gum, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol) and lemon-lime flavor (contains flavor extracts, maltodextrin, mannitol (Ph.Eur.), D-glucono-1,5-lactone, sorbitol (Ph.Eur.),arabic gum, highly disperse silicon dioxide).

Contraindications

Macrogol beta plus electrolytes must not be taken if you are hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients or other ingredients, have a perforated intestinal wall, suffer from an intestinal blockage or have severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease or toxic megacolon.

Dosage

The usual dose for constipation is one sachet 1 to 3 times daily for adults, adolescents aged 12 and over and older patients.

The duration of use should normally not be longer than 2 weeks.If constipation persists or certain illnesses occur, the dose can be reduced to one sachet once or twice daily.

Overdose may cause severe pain, bloating, vomiting or diarrhea.In this case you should contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember and continue using the prescribed dose.Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Intake

Open the bag and pour the contents into a glass.Add about 125 ml of water and stir until the powder is completely dissolved.Then drink the solution.

Patient information

You should continue to drink enough fluids while taking it, as the liquid content of the preparation does not replace your regular fluid intake.
