CalciCare-D3 Forte effervescent tablets are used as a vitamin D and calcium supplement to support specific therapies, for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D and calcium deficiencies in older people. It contains vitamin D3 and calcium carbonate as active ingredients. Proper use is important to achieve optimal treatment results. The package leaflet contains important information that should be read carefully. Side effects may occur, but not in every patient. The dosage is one effervescent tablet per day for adults and elderly people. The medicine should be dissolved in water and drunk. Overdoses can lead to hypervitaminosis and hypercalcaemia. If an overdose is suspected, a doctor should be consulted immediately. There are some contraindications for the use of CalciCare-D3 Forte, such as increased calcium levels, increased calcium excretion in the urine, renal calculi, impaired kidney function and parathyroid gland disorders. Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended. Interactions with other medicines may occur and should be discussed with the doctor or pharmacist before use. The tablets are available in packs of 20, 40, 100 or 120 and should be kept out of the reach of children.
