What is an allergy and how does it occur?

Contraindications

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to desloratadine, any of the other ingredients of this medicine or loratadine.

Dosage

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over should take one tablet once daily with water, with or without food.The duration of use depends on the type of allergic rhinitis.For intermittent allergic rhinitis, treatment is recommended depending on the previous course of the disease.If allergic rhinitis persists, longer treatment may be necessary.For urticaria, the duration of treatment varies from patient to patient.If you take more than you should, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.If you forget to take a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible and then go back to your normal treatment schedule.Do not take a double dose if you forget to take the previous dose.

Intake

The recommended dosage is one tablet once daily with water, with or without food.The tablet should be swallowed whole.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine if you have impaired kidney function.Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years of age.If you take the recommended dosage, this product is not expected to affect your ability to drive or use machines. Although most people do not experience drowsiness, it is recommended that you avoid activities that require mental alertness until your personal response to the medicine has been established.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.Taking desloratadine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.Data on male fertility/female fertility are not available.
