Description of the drug

The effervescent tablets contain calcium and vitamin D₃, which are essential for bone development.No prescription is required for this product.

Areas of application

The effervescent tablets are used to prevent and treat calcium and vitamin D deficiencies in older people.They also serve as an adjunct to support specific osteoporosis therapy for patients at risk of vitamin D and calcium deficiency.

Active ingredients and ingredients

Each effervescent tablet contains 2500 mg calcium carbonate, which corresponds to 1000 mg calcium ions.It also contains 0.022 mg colecalciferol (880 IU).The excipients used are alpha-tocopherol, citric acid (anhydrous), gelatin, lactose 1-water (376.6 mg), macrogol 6000, corn starch, methyl cellulose, sodium cyclamate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, povidone K25, saccharin sodium salt (3.34 mg), sucrose (3.34 mg), simeticone, soybean oil (partially hydrogenated,0.66 mg), sodium ions (total amount 96.23 mg), orange juice flavor, acetaldehyde, lauryl alcohol, ethyl butyrate, linalool, maltodextrin and artificial flavors.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the other ingredients.The preparation should also not be used if the calcium content in the blood or urine is too high, if there is severe kidney dysfunction, if there are kidney stones or if the vitamin D content in the blood is too high.

Dosage

Always take the medicine exactly as described or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.The recommended dose is one effervescent tablet daily.If you take more than you should, contact your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Symptoms of overdose may include loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, muscle weakness, drowsiness, confusion, feeling extremely thirsty, excessive urine production, and bone pain.If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose.

Intake

Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of drinking water (200 ml) and drink the entire contents of the glass.

Patient information

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you require long-term treatment, have impaired kidney function, have a high tendency to develop kidney stones, have sarcoidosis, or are taking other vitamin D or calcium supplements.Your doctor will decide whether a calcium and/or vitamin D₃preparation can be used in these circumstances.In the case of osteoporosis, it is recommended to have the calcium level in the blood checked before starting treatment.In the case of long-term treatment, the calcium content of the blood must be checked regularly.If your kidney function is impaired, your doctor should monitor the effect of treatment on calcium and phosphate balance.The effervescent tablets are not intended for use in children and adolescents.No studies on the effects on the ability to drive and use machines have been conducted.However, a detrimental effect is unlikely.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.The effervescent tablets should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the high dosage of vitamin D.Calcium and vitamin D₃ pass into breast milk.
