Description of the drug

This medicine belongs to the group of laxatives and is used to treat chronic constipation in adults, adolescents and elderly patients.It is not intended for use in children under 12 years of age.The preparation promotes pleasant intestinal activity, even if constipation has existed for a long period of time.No prescription is required for this product.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The medicine contains the following active ingredients: 46.6 mg potassium chloride, 24.44 mg potassium ions, 22.16 mg chloride ions, 13.125 g macrogol 3350, 350.7 mg sodium chloride, 137.99 mg sodium ions, 212.77 mg chloride ions and 178.5 mg sodium bicarbonate.Additionally it contains 48.85 mg sodium ions and 129.65 mg hydrogen carbonate ions.

Excipients include acesulfame potassium salt, sucralose, purified water, 45.6 mg benzyl alcohol, 5.6 mg ethyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, 11.3 mg methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate, 6.625 mmol total chloride ions, 2.125 mmol total hydrogen carbonate ions, 0.675 mmol total potassium ions, 186.87 mgTotal sodium ions, 8.125 mmol total sodium ions, orange flavor, natural and nature-identical flavorings and 74.5 mg ethanol.

Contraindications

You should not take the medicine if you have a narrowing or obstruction of the intestine, a perforation in the intestine or if you have severe inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease or toxic megacolon.You should also not use the product if you are allergic to the active ingredients or any of the other ingredients.

Dosage and intake

The specified dosage must not be exceeded.The medicine can be taken without regard to meals and should not be used undiluted.One dose is equivalent to 25 ml of liquid diluted with 100 ml of water.Depending on the severity of the constipation, you can take the ready-to-use solution 1 to 3 times a day.

The treatment usually lasts about 2 weeks.If necessary, your doctor may recommend that you take the product for longer than 2 weeks, especially if the constipation is caused by a disease such as Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis or if you are taking medicines that cause constipation.For long-term treatment the dose can be reduced to 1 or 2 doses per day.

If you take more than you should, you may experience severe diarrhea, which can lead to dehydration.In this case you should stop taking it and drink plenty of fluids.If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget to take it, take the dose as soon as you remember.

Preparation of the solution

Open the bottle and measure out 25ml or 5 teaspoonfuls.Pour the liquid into a glass and add 100ml (approximately half a glass) of water.Stir until the liquid is evenly mixed and the solution is clear.Now you can drink the solution.After use, rinse the measuring cup and place it back on the bottle.

Patient information

You should continue to drink enough fluids while taking it, as the liquid content of the preparation does not replace your regular fluid intake.

Macrogol has no influence on the ability to drive or use machines.
