Ibutop Schmerzgel is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory medicine for external use. It is used to treat swelling and inflammation of the soft tissues near the joints, such as the bursa, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments and joint capsule. It is also effective for sports and accident injuries such as bruises, sprains and strains. The gel should be applied to the painful area 3 times a day and rubbed in gently. The recommended dose is 4 - 10 cm gel strand, corresponding to 2 - 5 g gel (100 - 250 mg ibuprofen). The maximum daily dose is 15 g of gel (750 mg of ibuprofen). The gel should not be swallowed and should not be applied to open injuries, inflammations or eczema. If used under dressing, a doctor's check should be made. The gel is not suitable for children under 14 years of age and should not be used during the last trimester of pregnancy. Side effects such as hypersensitivity reactions of the skin may occur. Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in the gel, has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect by inhibiting the formation of prostaglandins, messenger substances of the body.
