Information for use of the article FOL Lichtenstein 5 mg Tablets: FOL Lichtenstein 5 mg Tablets are a vitamin preparation for the treatment of folic acid deficiencies that cannot be corrected by diet. The tablets are taken unchewed at mealtimes with some liquid. The recommended dose is 1-3 tablets per day as needed (corresponding to 5-15 mg folic acid). The duration of treatment is determined individually by the doctor, depending on the extent of the folic acid deficiency and the clinical picture. In the event of an overdose, gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disturbances, agitation or depression may occur. Store in the original container, protected from moisture and light. Contraindications to use are hypersensitivity to the ingredients and anaemia with enlarged red blood cells. If pregnant or breastfeeding, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before use. Possible side effects include allergic reactions, skin redness, itching, bronchial spasms, nausea, sleep disturbances, agitation, depression and gastrointestinal disorders. The tablets contain the active ingredient folic acid and other ingredients such as lactose monohydrate, talcum, cellulose powder, highly dispersed silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate. Folic acid is a vital vitamin that is involved in many metabolic processes in the body, such as the formation of red blood cells.
