what is LoranoPro? LoranoPro contains the active substance desloratadine, which belongs to the group of antihistamines. How does LoranoPro work? LoranoPro is an anti-allergic medicine that controls the allergic reaction and its symptoms without making you sleepy. For which indications is LoranoPro suitable? LoranoPro is used to improve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever, dust mite allergy) and urticaria (skin rash). How should LoranoPro be taken? The recommended dosage of LoranoPro varies according to age:
- Children between 2 and 5 years of age: 2.5 ml of oral solution once a day
- Children between 6 and 11 years: 5 ml of oral solution once a day
- Adolescents 12 years and older and adults: 10 ml oral solution once daily
The oral solution can be taken with or without food. It is recommended to swallow the dose of solution and drink some water afterwards. How long should LoranoPro be used? The duration of use of LoranoPro depends on the type of allergic rhinitis and can be determined individually by a doctor.
- If the allergic rhinitis is intermittent (symptoms occur less frequently than 4 days per week or last less than 4 weeks), an individualised treatment regimen is recommended.
- If allergic rhinitis is persistent (symptoms occur 4 or more days per week and last longer than 4 weeks), long-term treatment may be recommended.
- For urticaria, the duration of treatment may vary depending on the patient. How should LoranoPro be stored? LoranoPro should be kept out of the reach of children. The medicine must not be used after the expiry date. No special storage conditions are required. After opening the bottle, the oral solution can be stored for 2 months. Does LoranoPro contain other ingredients besides desloratadine? Yes, the oral solution also contains sorbitol, propylene glycol, sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, hypromellose, sucralose, sodium edetate, tutti-frutti flavouring and purified water. Are there any side effects of LoranoPro? Possible side effects of LoranoPro include headache, insomnia, dry mouth, diarrhoea, tiredness and fever. A doctor or pharmacist should be contacted if any adverse effects occur.
What should be considered before using LoranoPro? It should be noted that LoranoPro should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the ingredients. In certain cases, such as impaired kidney function or during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of LoranoPro may be restricted. In case of uncertainty, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted. In addition, it should be noted that LoranoPro contains fructose (fruit sugar) and must therefore be taken into account in diabetes diets. There may be interactions with other medicines, so other medicines should be reported to the doctor or pharmacist before starting a new treatment.
