Contraindications

This medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D3 or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.Also with increased calcium blood levels (hypercalcemia), increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalciuria), overactive parathyroid gland (hyperparathyroidism), bone marrow cancer (myeloma), cancer with bone metastases, prolonged immobilization of the limbs with hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria, kidney stones (nephrolithiasis), calcium deposits in the kidneys (nephrocalcinosis),Vitamin D overdose (hypervitaminosis D), severe kidney problems or if you are under 18 years old.

Dosage

Adults and the elderly take 1 chewable tablet daily, which contains 1000 mg of calcium and 880 IE vitamin D3.Pregnant women take half a chewable tablet daily, which corresponds to 500 mg calcium and 440 IE vitamin D3.The daily dose of half a chewable tablet must not be exceeded.The medicine must not be taken by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Intake

The chewable tablet must be chewed before swallowing.It can be taken at any time of the day, regardless of meals.

Patient information

During long-term therapy, blood and urine calcium levels and kidney function must be monitored regularly.This is especially important if you are prone to kidney stone formation.During simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides or thiazide diuretics for heart problems, calcium levels in the blood and urine as well as kidney function must be monitored regularly.If you have kidney problems, you should only take this medicine with particular caution.Your blood and urine calcium levels need to be monitored.If you have serious kidney problems, take other forms of vitamin D instead of colecalciferol.Additional calcium and vitamin D supplementation requires medical supervision and regular monitoring of calcium levels in blood and urine.With sarcoidosis, the drug must be taken with particular caution, as it can lead to an overdose of calcium in the body.Calcium levels in blood and urine must be monitored.If you have immobilization osteoporosis, the medicine must be used with particular caution as the calcium level in your blood may increase.

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, you can take the medicine in case of calcium and vitamin D deficiency.The daily dose of half a chewable tablet must not be exceeded.During pregnancy, the daily dose of calcium should not be higher than 1500 mg and the daily dose of vitamin D3 should not be higher than 600 IE .Long-term overdose of calcium and vitamin D during pregnancy must be avoided as this can lead to high calcium levels in the blood and have negative effects on the unborn child.The medicine can be used during breastfeeding.Since calcium and vitamin D are excreted in breast milk, please consult your doctor first to see whether your child is already receiving preparations containing vitamin D.
