FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5% is a versatile product that can be used for various skin irritations.The cream contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone, which relieves inflammatory skin diseases.No prescription is required for this product.

Mode of action

The active ingredient hydrocortisone promotes the production of anti-inflammatory messenger substances and at the same time inhibits the production of inflammatory messenger substances.This alleviates symptoms of inflammation.

Ingredients of FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5%: 1 g of cream for application to the skin contains 5 mg of hydrocortisone as a medicinally active ingredient.The other ingredients are dexpanthenol, glycerol 85%, [(Z)-Octadec-9-en-1-yl]oleate, emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A) (emulsifier), medium-chain triglycerides, octyldodecanol, glycerol monostearate, dimeticone (350 cSt), potassium sorbate (preservative), carbomer (40,000-60,000cP), sodium edetate, trometamol and purified water.

Area of application

FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5% can be used for various forms of skin inflammation, such as eczema, contact allergies (e.g. nickel or fragrance allergy), mild neurodermatitis, mild sunburn, inflamed insect bites and sun allergy.The cream has a triple effect: it relieves itching, reduces swelling and reduces redness.It also contains nourishing dexpanthenol and does not contain alcohol, fragrances and parabens.The cream is suitable from the age of 6.

Contraindications

FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5% must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, specific skin diseases (e.g. syphilis, TB), viral infections (e.g. herpes simplex, herpes zoster, varicella), vaccination reactions, mycoses, bacterial skin infections, acne vulgaris, steroid acne, periofal dermatitis, rosacea, children under 6 years of age (only after medical consultation) andon an area of skin larger than 1/10 of the body surface.Particular caution is required when using on the face, on intertriginous areas, around skin ulcers, in the genital and anal areas, on children and the elderly.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated.

Dosage

Recommended use of FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5%: Adults and children over the age of 6 should apply the cream thinly to the inflamed area of skin 1-2 times a day at the start of treatment and rub in lightly.Once the clinical picture improves, a single application per day is usually sufficient.A treatment period of 2 weeks should not be exceeded and large-area application (more than 1/10 of the body surface) should be avoided.

Intake

The preparation is intended for application to the skin and for external use only.Avoid use on the mouth and nostrils.Apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas and rub in lightly.Please wash your hands after applying the cream.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when using it on the face (especially around the eyes; if predisposed: risk of increasing intraocular pressure) and when applying it to body folds (intertriginous areas), around skin ulcers (ulcers), and to the genital and anal area.Particular caution is required in older people (senile skin) due to weakened barrier properties of the stratum corneum, or in children due to a larger body surface area in relation to body weight.Do not use on open wounds.Do not apply the cream to an area larger than 1/10 of the body surface.Children: The cream must not be used on children under 6 years of age without a doctor's prescription.Older people: See above.There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

You may only use the medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding according to strict indications.During pregnancy, especially in the first three months of pregnancy, and while breastfeeding, you should not use the medicine over a large area (more than 1/10 of the body surface) or long-term (longer than four weeks).With long-term use, growth disorders in the unborn child cannot be ruled out.If treated at the end of pregnancy, the fetus is at risk of a reduction in the size (atrophy) of the adrenal cortex.Glucocorticoids are excreted in breast milk.If there is a compelling indication, breastfeeding should be discontinued.Do not use the cream on the breast area while breastfeeding to avoid unwanted oral absorption by the baby. Newborns whose mothers were treated long-term and/or extensively with corticosteroids during pregnancy or breastfeeding should be monitored more closely for possible undesirable sequelae.Before taking/using any medicines, ask your doctor or pharmacy for advice.
