FeniHydrocort Cream 0.5% is a versatile product that can be used for various skin irritations.The cream contains the active ingredient hydrocortisone and is particularly nourishing thanks to the addition of dexpanthenol.It is free of alcohol, fragrances and parabens and can be used from ages 6 and up.

The cream has a triple effect: it relieves itching, reduces swelling and reduces redness.This is achieved through the anti-inflammatory effect of hydrocortisone, which inhibits the production of inflammatory messenger substances and at the same time releases anti-inflammatory substances.

Areas of application

FeniHydrocort cream can be used for various forms of skin inflammation, including eczema, contact allergies such as nickel or fragrance allergies, mild neurodermatitis, mild sunburn, inflamed insect bites and sun allergy.

Mode of action

The active ingredient hydrocortisone promotes the production of anti-inflammatory messenger substances and at the same time inhibits the production of inflammatory messenger substances.This alleviates symptoms of inflammation.

Ingredients of FeniHydrocort cream 0.5%, hydrocortisone 5 mg/g: 1 g cream contains 5 mg hydrocortisone as a medicinally active ingredient.The other ingredients are dexpanthenol, glycerol 85%, [(Z)-Octadec-9-en-1-yl]oleate, emulsifying cetostearyl alcohol (type A), medium-chain triglycerides, octyldodecanol, glycerol monostearate, dimeticone (350 cSt), potassium sorbate (preservative), carbomer (40,000-60,000 cP),Sodium edetate, trometamol and purified water.

Contraindications

FeniHydrocort cream 0.5%, hydrocortisone 5 mg/g must not be used in cases of known hypersensitivity to one of the ingredients, specific skin diseases such as syphilis or TB, viral infections such as herpes simplex or herpes zoster, vaccination reactions, mycoses, bacterial skin infections, acne vulgaris or steroid acne, periofal dermatitis, rosacea, children under 6 years of age (only after medical consultation) and onan area of skin larger than 1/10 of the body surface.

Particular caution is required when using on the face, on intertriginous areas, around skin ulcers, in the genital and anal areas, on children and the elderly.Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is contraindicated.

Dosage

Adults and children over the age of 6 should apply the cream thinly to the inflamed area of skin 1-2 times a day at the start of treatment and rub in lightly.Once the clinical picture improves, a single application per day is usually sufficient.A treatment period of 2 weeks should not be exceeded and large-area application (more than 1/10 of the body surface) should be avoided.

Application

The preparation is intended for application to the skin and for external use only.Avoid use on the mouth and nostrils.Apply the cream thinly to the affected skin areas and rub in lightly.After applying the cream you should wash your hands.

Patient information

Particular caution is required when applying to the face, especially around the eyes, and when applying to body folds, around skin ulcers, and to the genital and anal areas.Particular caution is required for the elderly and children.Do not apply the cream to an area larger than 1/10 of the body surface.

The cream must not be used on children under 6 years of age without a doctor's prescription.There are no known effects on the ability to drive or use machines.

Pregnancy

You may only use the medicine during pregnancy and breastfeeding according to strict indications.During pregnancy, especially in the first three months, and while breastfeeding, you should not use the medicine over large areas or for a long time.Glucocorticoids are excreted in breast milk.If there is a compelling indication, breastfeeding should be discontinued.
