Information about Myfungar® shoe spray

Myfungar® shoe spray is a special disinfectant that is used to combat athlete's foot and nail fungus in shoes.Athlete's foot and nail fungus are common diseases that affect around 15 to 20% of the population in Germany.These fungal diseases are contagious and can be promoted by warm, humid conditions in shoes.Regular disinfection of footwear is therefore essential to prevent reinfection.

Mode of action

Myfungar® shoe spray was developed to disinfect shoes in cases of athlete's foot and nail fungus infections.It protects against re-infection through your own shoes and reliably eliminates bacteria, viruses and fungal pathogens.It also neutralizes unpleasant odors in shoes.The active ingredients lavender oil, Octopirox® and zinc ricinoleate support the odor-inhibiting and antimicrobial effects.

Active ingredients and ingredients

100 g of Myfungar® shoe spray contains 50 mg didecyldimethylammonium chloride, 15 mg polyaminopropyl biguanide and 38.4 g ethanol.Other ingredients include aqua, triethanolamine, citric acid, zinc ricinoleate, laureth-3, piroctonolamine (Octopirox®), tetrahydroxypropylethylenediamine, propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol and lavender oil (linalool).

Application

To use the shoe spray, you should spray the interior of the shoes evenly with 5 to 7 sprays and allow the disinfectant to take effect for at least 10 minutes.In the case of acute infections and for prevention, disinfection should be repeated regularly.

How often can I treat my shoes with a bottle of shoe spray?Myfungar® shoe spray is available in two pack sizes: 100 ml and 25 ml. The 100 ml bottle is sufficient for around 100 applications and can therefore disinfect 50 pairs of shoes.The 25 ml bottle is particularly suitable for disinfecting shoes on the go, for example when doing sports or traveling.

Can I avoid infection of athlete's foot in rental shoes if I wear socks?Stockings do not provide sufficient protection against fungal spores in borrowed shoes.If you wear them for a long time, infected skin cells can also penetrate through the socks.This also applies to infected people whose fungal pathogens get into their shoes through their socks and thus pose a risk of infection for others.

Why is there an increased risk of fungal infections when exercising?Jogging, soccer, tennis and hiking put a lot of strain on your feet and toenails, which can lead to micro-injuries.These allow fungal pathogens to easily penetrate the skin and nails.Breathable shoes and socks have reduced the problem of excessive sweating in athletic shoes, which used to be a common cause of athlete's foot infections.

To avoid fungal infections on your feet, shoes should be comfortable and wide enough.Shoes that are too tight can cause pressure points and small injuries through which fungal pathogens can penetrate.Mushrooms feel particularly comfortable in the warm, humid climate of sweaty shoes.If your feet sweat a lot, you should disinfect your shoes regularly to avoid fungal infections and unpleasant odors.Borrowed shoes such as ski boots or ice skates are often heavily contaminated with fungal pathogens.Disinfection can reduce the risk of infection and prevent the spread of pathogens.
