Ciclopirox acis® nail polish was specially developed for the treatment of fungal nail infections.The active ingredient ciclopirox penetrates the nail plate and has an antifungal effect on all important pathogens that cause fungal nail infections.The nail polish is waterproof, seals the nail and ensures good absorption of the active ingredients.

No prescription is required for this product.If you don't feel better or feel worse after 6 months, contact your doctor.

Ciclopirox acis nail polish contains the active ingredient ciclopirox.1 gram of active nail polish contains 80 milligrams of ciclopirox.The other ingredients are poly(butyl hydrogen maleate-co-methoxyethylene) (1:1), ethyl acetate and 2-propanol.

Contraindications

If you are known to be hypersensitive to any of the above ingredients, the product should not be used.Do not use in children under 6 years of age, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as there are no clinical data available.

Dosage

Recommended use of Ciclopirox acis nail polish: Unless otherwise prescribed, a thin layer of Ciclopirox acis nail polish is applied to the affected nail every other day for the first month.This ensures that the nail is saturated with the active ingredient.In the second month of treatment, the frequency of application can be reduced to at least two applications per week and from the third month of treatment to one application per week.

Before you start treatment with Ciclopirox acis nail polish, remove as much of the destroyed nail tissue as possible with scissors or with the disposable nail files provided.In any case, use one of the included alcohol swabs to clean the nail surface.This will also remove any paint residue.

Please apply the nail polish using one of the reusable spatulas included in the package.There are 10 individual, reusable spatulas in a clear packaging.The individual reusable spatulas must be broken out of the blister packaging before use.The package also includes a spatula holder.By connecting a single spatula to the spatula holder, applying nail polish is made easier.

Dip the spatula with the perforated surface into the glass bottle for each nail to be treated and do not wipe it off the neck of the bottle as there is a risk of the screw cap sticking to the bottle.Using the spatula, apply Ciclopirox acis nail polish evenly over the entire surface of the affected nail.

Due to the special shape of the spatula holder, the spatula does not come into contact with the storage surface, so that fungal spores remain on the spatula.You can put the spatula down every now and then without having to worry about fungal spores being transferred.Immediately after use, screw the bottle tightly closed to prevent the solution from drying out.The solution must not come into contact with the screw thread of the vial to prevent the screw cap from sticking to the vial.

After use, clean the spatula with the alcohol swab so it can be used again.The entire layer of varnish is removed with alcohol swabs once a week during the treatment period.With the help of disposable nail files, as much of the changed nail tissue as possible is removed.If the lacquer layer is no longer intact in the meantime, it is sufficient to simply coat the chipped areas with Ciclopirox acis nail polish.Nail files that have been used to treat diseased nails should not be used on healthy nails.Do not use the nail files if there is visible damage.
