Dosage and application instructions

Menopausal women should take 2 film-coated tablets 2 times daily, regardless of meal time, in the morning and evening. From the 9th week, the dose can be reduced to 1 film-coated tablet 2 times daily. The total dose should not be exceeded without consulting a doctor or pharmacist.

The film-coated tablets should be taken with liquid. The duration of treatment should not exceed 6 months without medical advice. If psychological symptoms such as moodiness, nervousness and irritability persist after 6 weeks of treatment, a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications

Remifemin plus St. John's wort film-coated tablets must not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to the ingredients, impaired liver function and estrogen-dependent tumours. The medicinal product must also not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Side effects

So far, only side effects that have occurred in exceptional cases have been described for the medicinal product. In the event of any disturbances or changes during treatment, a doctor or pharmacist should be consulted.

Composition

1 Film-coated tablet Remifemin plus St. John's wort contains 70 mg dry extract of St. John's wort and 3.75 mg dry extract of cimicifuga rhizome. Other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, glycerol dibehenate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, lactose, poly(vinyl alcohol), (3-sn-phosphatidyl)choline (soybean), xanthan gum, talc, titanium dioxide, iron(III) hydroxide oxide and indigocarmine.

Important notes

Excessive UV-radiation should be avoided during the use of the medicinal product. The medicinal product should be used with caution in the case of allergies to ascorbic acid (vitamin C), dyes, lactose, peanuts and soya and in the case of intolerance to lactose. Interactions with other medicinal products may occur. It should be stored away from heat.
