Laxbene junior 500 mg/ml oral solution is an osmotic laxative that increases the water content in the stool and facilitates bowel movements. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in children aged 6 months to 8 years. Treatment should only be given as part of a change in lifestyle and diet and should not last longer than 3 months. The recommended dosage varies depending on the age of the child. The dose can be divided between morning and evening. The effect occurs within 24 to 48 hours after taking the medicine. The medicine contains the active substance macrogol 4000 and other ingredients such as sodium benzoate and sodium. The medicine should not be taken in case of allergic reactions to macrogol or other ingredients, as well as in case of certain intestinal diseases and abdominal pain of unknown cause. Diarrhoea may occur during treatment, which may cause a salt deficiency. In case of overdose or forgotten intake, a doctor should be consulted.
