Laxbene® junior 500 mg/ml solution has been specially developed for children aged 6 months to 8 years to treat constipation in a child-friendly way.It is the only salt-free Macrogol 4000 preparation for children in this age group, available as a ready-to-drink solution.

Area of application

Laxbene® junior 500 mg/ml solution belongs to the group of osmotically acting laxatives.These increase the water content in the stool and thereby make bowel movements easier.The preparation is used for the symptomatic treatment of constipation in children aged 6 months to 8 years.It should always be used in combination with a healthy lifestyle and diet.The maximum treatment duration is 3 months.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Laxbene® junior 500 mg/ml solution is macrogol 4000. The solution also contains the following excipients: citric acid (anhydrous), sodium citrate, sucralose, purified water, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if you are allergic to macrogol (polyethylene glycol, PEG) or any of the other ingredients.Its use is also contraindicated in intestinal diseases such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, in abdominal pain of unknown origin, in the presence or suspicion of a perforation in the gastrointestinal tract, and in intestinal obstruction or indications thereof.

Dosage

The recommended daily dose is 8 ml for children 6 months to 1 year, 8 ml to 16 ml for children 1 year to 4 years and 16 ml to 32 ml for children 4 years to 8 years.With a dosage of 8 ml per day, it should be taken in the morning.Higher dosages are divided into morning and evening doses.The daily dose should be adjusted to the success of the treatment.The effect occurs within 24 to 48 hours after ingestion.

It is recommended to dose the solution using the dosing aid included in the outer box.After treatment, improved intestinal activity can be maintained through a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet.

In the event of an overdose, diarrhea may occur, which will subside by interrupting or reducing treatment.If you have severe diarrhea or vomiting, you should see a doctor immediately to prevent salt deficiency due to fluid loss.If a dose is missed, do not take a double dose.
