Instructions for use for AESCUSAN retard Retard tablets, 50 pcs
Aescusan retard is a herbal vein remedy that is used to treat complaints of diseases of the leg veins. These conditions are characterised by swollen legs, varicose veins, a feeling of heaviness and tightness, pain, itching, tiredness in the legs and calf cramps. It contains the active ingredient horse chestnut seed dry extract. Before taking Aescusan retard, some factors should be taken into account. It must not be taken by patients with known hypersensitivity to horse chestnut seed or any of the other ingredients. A doctor should be consulted in the event of inflammation of the skin, superficial phlebitis or hardening of the subcutaneous tissue, severe pain, skin ulcers, sudden swelling of one or both legs and functional impairment of the heart or kidneys. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should not take the medicine. The recommended dosage for adults is 1 sustained-release tablet 2 times daily. The tablets should be taken unchewed with some liquid before meals. The duration of treatment may vary from person to person and long-term treatment is possible. Possible side effects of Aescusan retard are gastrointestinal complaints, headache, dizziness, itching and allergic reactions. However, side effects may also occur that have only been reported in exceptional cases. If side effects persist, you should consult a doctor. Aescusan retard contains the active substance horse chestnut seed dry extract and other excipients. It is available in packs of 20, 50 and 100 retard tablets. An overdose of Aescusan retard may cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. If the dose is forgotten, the next dose should be taken as usual, but not a double dose. Aescusan retard should be stored at temperatures below 25°C to protect the medicine from heat. Be careful if you have an allergic reaction to the sweetener saccharin (E number E 954).
