Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules is used for food allergies that cannot be treated by avoiding the triggering food.The preparation has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects.The active ingredient sodium cromoglicate is a prophylactically effective anti-allergic and mast cell stabilizer.When taken regularly before meals, it can help reduce or prevent symptoms such as nausea, stomach pain and digestive problems.Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules is also suitable for children aged two and over.No prescription is required for this product.

Each hard capsule contains 100 mg of sodium cromoglicate as the active ingredient.In addition, the preparation contains the following excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, highly disperse silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate (vegetable), titanium dioxide, iron (III) hydroxide oxide x H2O and gelatin.It also contains 23 mg of sodium ions per capsule.

Area of application

Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules is used for food allergies that cannot be treated by avoiding the triggering food.It is important to note that this medicine is not suitable for the treatment of acute asthma attacks or other acute food allergy symptoms.If you have had life-threatening allergic reactions to certain foods in the past, you should avoid these during treatment with Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents aged 15 and over take 2 capsules four times daily, which corresponds to a total of 800 mg sodium cromoglicate.For children aged two to fourteen years, the recommended dose is one capsule four times daily, for a total of 400 mg of sodium cromoglicate.For infants and young children between two months and two years, the daily dose is calculated based on body weight, with 20 to 40 mg per kilogram of body weight should be administered.This dose should be divided into four equal doses and given before each meal.In some cases the dose can be increased, but a daily dose of 40 mg per kilogram of body weight should not be exceeded.

Intake

The capsules should be taken 15 to 30 minutes before meals.They can either be swallowed whole with a little water or the contents can be dissolved in 2 to 3 tablespoons of hot water.It should be taken at the same intervals as possible, i.e. morning, midday, afternoon and evening.For infants and young children, the daily dose should be divided into four equal doses and administered before each meal.If necessary, the contents of a capsule can be divided into several doses.

Contraindications

Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules must not be used if you are hypersensitive or allergic to sodium cromoglicate or any of the other ingredients of the drug.

Patient information

The use of Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules cannot currently be recommended for infants in the first two months of life (correspondingly longer for premature babies).No special precautions are required for the ability to drive or use machines.Keep the medicine out of the reach of children.Store it in a dry place and do not use it after the expiration date.

Pregnancy

During pregnancy and breastfeeding you should only use Pentatop® 100 mg hard capsules if the doctor considers it necessary.There is no evidence of a teratogenic effect, but caution is still advised.The active ingredient passes into breast milk in small quantities.
