Description
Momeallerg is a nasal spray used to treat hay fever.It contains the active ingredient mometasone, which belongs to the group of corticosteroids.Mometasone has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects.Used as a nasal spray, it can help relieve inflammation, sneezing, itching, and a runny or stuffy nose caused by hay fever.
The nasal spray is used in adults for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), provided the initial diagnosis was made by a doctor.Hay fever is an allergic reaction caused by inhaling pollen from trees, grasses, mold and fungal spores.Momeallerg reduces the swelling and irritation in the nose, thereby relieving the symptoms of hay fever.

Area of application
The nasal spray contains mometasone furoate, an active ingredient from the corticosteroid group.When mometasone furoate is sprayed into the nose, it can help relieve inflammation, sneezing, itching, and a stuffy or runny nose.The medicine is used in adults for the symptomatic treatment of the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) after initial diagnosis by a doctor.

Active ingredient: mometasone furoate.Each actuation contains 50 micrograms of mometasone furoate (as monohydrate).
Other ingredients: Benzalkonium chloride solution, glycerol, polysorbate 80, microcrystalline cellulose and carmellose sodium, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, purified water.
Contraindications
This medicine must not be used if you are allergic to mometasone furoate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.It also should not be used if you have an untreated infection in your nose, such as herpes, as this may make the infection worse.Wait until the infection clears before you start using the nasal spray.
If you have recently had nose surgery or injured your nose, you should not start using the nasal spray until your nose has healed.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described or exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you.Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
The usual dose is two sprays into each nostril once daily.Once your symptoms are under control, a reduced dose of one spray into each nostril may be sufficient as a maintenance dose.If there is no improvement, you should see your doctor.
If you suffer from hay fever a lot, your doctor may advise you to start using the product before the pollen season to prevent your hay fever symptoms from occurring.At the end of the pollen season, your hay fever symptoms should improve so that treatment should no longer be necessary.
If you have used more than you should, tell your doctor.If you use steroids for a long time or in large amounts, in rare cases they can affect some of your hormones.
If you forget to use it, use the nasal spray as soon as you remember and then continue as usual.Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.
Do not stop treatment, even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to.For some patients, the drug may relieve symptoms as early as 12 hours after the first dose, but the full effects of the treatment may not be felt for two days.It is very important that you use your nasal spray regularly.
Intake
Preparing your nasal spray for use: Your preparation has a protective cap that protects the nasal piece and keeps it clean.Remember to take them off before using the spray and then put them back on again.
If you are using the spray for the first time, you will need to prepare the bottle by activating the spray 10 times until a fine spray is created.Shake the bottle, place your index and middle fingers on either side of the nose piece and your thumb under the bottle. Hold the nose piece away from you and press down with your fingers to press the spray 10 times until a fine mist is created.
If you have not used the nasal spray for 14 days or longer, you will need to prepare the nasal spray again by pressing the spray twice until a fine mist is created.
How to use the nasal spray: Shake the bottle gently and remove the protective cap from the nosepiece.Gently clean your nose.Close one nostril and insert the nosepiece into the other nostril.Tilt your head slightly forward and hold the bottle upright.Begin to breathe in gently through your nose and as you breathe in, spray a spray of fine mist into your nose by pressing down once with your fingers.Breathe out through your mouth.Repeat this step to give a second spray into the same nostril if necessary.Take the nosepiece out of this nostril and breathe out through your mouth.Repeat the steps for the other nostril.
After use, clean the nose piece carefully with a clean tissue and put the protective cap back on.
Cleaning your nasal spray: It is important to clean your nasal spray regularly, otherwise it may not work properly.To do this, remove the protective cap and carefully pull off the nose piece.Clean the nosepiece and protective cap in warm water and then rinse under running water.Do not try to expand the exit opening of the nosepiece with a needle or sharp object, as this will damage the nosepiece and prevent you from receiving the correct dose of medicine.Allow the protective cap and nosepiece to dry in a warm place.Put the nose piece back on the bottle and put the protective cap on.The nasal spray must be prepared with 2 sprays before the first use after cleaning.
Patient information
Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product if you have or have ever had tuberculosis, if you have any other infection, if you are taking other medicines containing corticosteroids, both oral and injection, or if you have cystic fibrosis (cystic fibrosis).
Please talk to your doctor while using this medicine if your immune system is not working well and you come into contact with people who have had measles or chickenpox, if you have an infection of the nose or throat, if you are using the medicine for several months or longer, or if you have persistent irritation of the nose or throat.
When corticosteroid nasal sprays are used in high doses for long periods of time, side effects may occur from the drug absorbed into the body.If your eyes are itchy or irritated, your doctor may recommend other treatments along with the product.
There is no information known about the influence of the preparation on the ability to drive or use machines.
Pregnancy
There is almost no information on the use of this drug in pregnant women.It is not known whether mometasone furoate passes into breast milk.If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
