Instructions for use for TERBINAFIN AbZ 10 mg/g cream, 15 g

Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream is used to treat fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes such as Trichophyton, Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum. It is also effective against yeast infections of the skin, especially those caused by the genus Candida. In addition, the cream can also be used for pityriasis (tinea) versicolor, which is caused by the yeast fungus Pityrosporum orbiculare. The cream contains the active substance terbinafine hydrochloride and the excipients cetyl alcohol and cetylstearyl alcohol. Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream is applied to the skin. Before applying the cream, the skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried. Apply the cream thinly to the inflamed skin and slightly beyond and rub in gently. For inflammation in skin folds, the skin can be covered with a sterile gauze at night. The duration and frequency of use varies depending on the area of application. For athlete's foot, the cream is applied once a day for one week. For certain yeast infections and fungal skin infections, the duration of application is also one week, while for shamrock lichen, an application of one to two weeks is recommended. The cream must not be used in children under 12 years of age. No special dosages are required for older people. The cream should be protected from frost and moisture and stored in the dark. After opening the tube, it can be used for another 3 months. The medicinal product should not be disposed of in the waste water, but should be given to the pharmacist. Possible side effects are hypersensitivity reactions of the skin such as rash, itching, burning and redness. A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted in the event of any disturbances of well-being occurring during treatment. Terbinafine AbZ 10 mg/g cream is available without a prescription in pharmacies. Read the package leaflet before use and consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.
