Silymarin STADA hard capsules are a herbal medicine that is used to support the treatment of various liver diseases.The active ingredient in this preparation is a dry extract of milk thistle fruit, which is standardized to contain 117 mg of silymarin.Silymarin is a complex of active ingredients consisting of various substances, including silibinin, silychristin and silydanin.

The milk thistle from which the extract is obtained is a thistle up to two meters high with large, dark green and white marbled leaves and purple flowers.It occurs mainly in Europe, especially in sunny and barren regions of the Mediterranean.The fruits of milk thistle have pronounced liver-protecting properties.They protect the liver from toxins such as alcohol, intercept harmful substances and promote the formation of new liver cells.They also reduce the formation of inflammatory substances in the body.

Areas of application

Silymarin STADA hard capsules are used to support the treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage.Toxic liver damage can be caused by various liver toxins.The medicine is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning.No prescription is required for this product.

Dosage and application

Composition

One hard capsule contains 170-200 mg of purified dry milk thistle fruit extract (60-70:1), equivalent to 117 mg of silymarin, calculated as silibinin (HPLC).Ethanol 96% (V/V) is used as an extractant.

The other ingredients are cellulose powder, dextrin (potato starch), gelatin, magnesium stearate (vegetable), sodium dodecyl sulfate, colloidal silicon dioxide, purified water, iron(II,III) oxide (E172), iron (III) oxide (E172), iron (III) hydroxide oxide (E172) and titanium dioxide (E171).

Side effects
