Areas of application

Silymarin STADA hard capsules are used to support the treatment of chronic inflammatory liver diseases, liver cirrhosis and toxic liver damage.The medicine is not suitable for the treatment of acute poisoning.

Active ingredients and ingredients

The active ingredient in Silymarin STADA hard capsules is milk thistle fruit dry extract, standardized to 117 mg silymarin per capsule.The extract is obtained with ethanol 96% (v/v).Each hard capsule contains 170-200 mg of purified dry milk thistle fruit extract (60-70:1), equivalent to 117 mg of silymarin, calculated as silibinin (HPLC).

The other ingredients are cellulose powder, dextrin (potato starch), gelatin, magnesium stearate (vegetable), sodium dodecyl sulfate, colloidal silicon dioxide, purified water, iron (II,III) oxide (E172), iron (III) oxide (E172), iron (III) hydroxide oxide (E172) and titanium dioxide (E171).

Dosage and application

Adults take 1 capsule 2 to 3 times daily.The capsules should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid, such as a glass of water.The treating doctor decides on the duration of use.If symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted.

There are no specific dosage recommendations for patients with impaired kidney function.It is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Contraindications

The medicine must not be taken if there is hypersensitivity to milk thistle fruit dry extract, other composite plants or any of the other ingredients.In addition, it must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Side effects
