Instructions for use of the article EvoTears Omega Eye Drops: EvoTears Omega is a medical device in the form of eye drops used for dry eyes. It contains perfluorohexyloctane (EyeSol) with 0.2% omega-3 fatty acids. These eye drops stabilise the lipid layer of the tear film and reduce evaporation of the aqueous layer underneath. This relieves the symptoms of dry eyes such as burning, itching, stinging and foreign body sensation. Caution should be exercised before using EvoTears Omega if other eye medications are being used at the same time. An application interval of at least 15 minutes should be observed. People who wear contact lenses should not use EvoTears Omega as there is insufficient data on compatibility with contact lens materials. The use of EvoTears Omega in pregnant women, lactating women and children is not recommended as there are no data on safety. EvoTears Omega is applied by dropping 1 drop into the lower eyelid up to 4 times daily. The bottle should be opened before use according to the instructions. The eye drops can be used daily as they do not contain antimicrobial preservatives. Temporary eye irritation may occur in individual cases when using EvoTears Omega. If eye irritation persists, discontinue use and seek medical advice. EvoTears Omega should not be used if the bottle or original cap is damaged or after the expiry date printed on it. Indication: Evotears Omega eye drops are suitable for dry eyes and irritated eyelids. These complaints may indicate a disorder of the meibomian glands which affects the lipid phase of the tear film. By using EvoTears Omega, evaporative protection is enhanced and the lipid phase is supplemented to relieve irritated eyes and eyelid margins. Mode of action: Evotears Omega eye drops combine effective anti-evaporation protection with plant-based Omega-3 to soothe irritated eyes and eyelid margins. Due to the low surface tension, the drops quickly disperse on the tear film and form a protective coating. The plant-based omega-3 contributes to the maintenance of the lipid phase.
