Instructions for use for Diclo Beta pain gel (50 g)
Area of application
Diclo Beta pain gel is a pain-relieving medication that is applied externally to the skin and is used for the symptomatic treatment of pain in adults.It is used for acute strains, sprains, or bruises caused by blunt injuries, such as sports or accidental injuries.It can also be used for pain in the soft tissues near the joints, such as bursa, tendons, tendon sheaths, ligaments, muscle attachments and joint capsules, especially for osteoarthritis of the knee and finger joints.The gel is also used for epicondylitis, i.e. inflammation of the tendon attachments in the elbow area, as well as for acute muscle pain, for example in the back.
For teenagers aged 14 and over, Diclo Beta pain gel can be used for the short-term treatment of pain from acute bruises, strains or sprains caused by blunt injuries.No prescription is required for this product.
Mode of action
The Diclo Beta pain gel contains the active ingredient diclofenac sodium and, as a light emulsion gel, has a quick pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect.It eliminates pain, relieves swelling and enables movement in everyday life.The gel also cools inflamed and swollen skin and joints.It absorbs quickly and leaves a pleasant cooling feeling on the skin without leaving any residue.

The Diclo Beta pain gel contains the active ingredient diclofenac sodium.One gram of the gel contains 10 milligrams of diclofenac sodium.Other ingredients include purified water, 2-propanol, propylene glycol, medium chain triglycerides, thick paraffin, cetomacrogol 1000, carbomer 974 P and N-ethylethanamine.
Contraindications
Diclo Beta pain gel should not be used if there is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.It must not be applied to open injuries, inflammation or infections of the skin, eczema or mucous membranes.The gel should also not be used on children and adolescents under 14 years of age, pregnant women or breastfeeding women without consulting a doctor.
Dosage
The Diclo Beta pain gel should always be used exactly as described in the package leaflet or after consultation with a doctor or pharmacist.Unless otherwise prescribed, the gel should be used 3 to 4 times daily.Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, an amount the size of a cherry to a walnut, corresponding to 1-4 grams of gel (10-40 milligrams of diclofenac sodium), is required.The maximum daily dose is 16 grams of gel (equivalent to 160 milligrams of diclofenac sodium).
The application should last 1-3 weeks.If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, a doctor should be consulted.Adolescents 14 years and older should consult a doctor if the medicine is needed to treat pain for more than 7 days or if symptoms worsen.
Intake
The Diclo Beta pain gel is not intended to be taken and is only suitable for external use.
Patient information
Before using Diclo Beta pain gel, you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist.If used over a large area and for a long time, side effects may occur, which are also possible when taking other medicines containing diclofenac.The gel may only be applied to intact, not diseased or injured skin and must not get into the eyes or oral mucous membranes.In case of contact with eyes, they should be rinsed carefully with water.A bandage can be used, but not an occlusive bandage.Before applying a bandage, the gel should dry for a few minutes.
In acute conditions with severe redness, swelling or overheating of joints, persistent joint problems or severe back pain that radiates to the legs and/or is associated with neurological symptoms, a doctor should be consulted.If symptoms do not improve after 3-5 days or worsen, a doctor should also be consulted.
Patients with asthma, hay fever, swollen nasal mucous membranes or chronic respiratory diseases should only use the gel under medical supervision.If a skin rash occurs, treatment should be discontinued.Sensitivity to light may occur during treatment.Children should not come into contact with rubbed areas of skin.The gel must not be used in children and adolescents under 14 years of age.
The Diclo Beta pain gel has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Pregnancy
In the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, Diclo Beta pain gel should only be used after consulting a doctor.It must not be used in the last trimester of pregnancy as there is an increased risk of complications for mother and child.During breastfeeding, the gel should only be used after consulting a doctor and should not be applied to the breast area or to large areas of skin for a long period of time.
Notes
Diclo Beta pain gel should not be used on open wounds.Propylene glycol can cause skin irritation.The gel should be kept out of the reach of small children.
